We will try to introduce in this section some best practices that certain software editors experienced while releasing their program under a sustainable software license schema.
This section is mainly intended for small and mid-sized software editors who will mainly face organisational issues related to opening their code base under a sustainable license. Of course, other actors may read some of these best practices in order to better understand the business model and processes underlying a sustainable software.
Note that all these best practices might not be useful for your own software project. They should not necessarily be all applied as is.
This section was divided in several three key chapters:
- Organisational and other legal issues
- Software and License Management
- Sales and Distribution
This section will be updated each time we receive a new best practice.
